Default Do not buy chinese cell phones

Hello everyone -- BEFORE you buy a cell phone made in China -- note that the proposed highway through the Serengeti in Tanzania (which will mean destruction of the wildebeast migration, doom for the lions and other wildlife in the area) is all because of a mineral that is found in Lake Victoria that China wants for cell phone components. The Tanzanian government wants a quick route to get these minerals to China. I personally am now searching for a cell phone NOT MADE in China so that I do not participate in the destruction of one of the last places big cats roam free. 50 years ago there were 450,000 lions in Africa -- now there are 20,000. Modern conveniences are not worth the loss of other species. Think before you buy.....

Default The Today Show's Report About This

Here is a link to a report by The Today Show -- forward the link around please. It is only way people will become aware of what China's intent is:

    http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/261848...17595#40817595

There is an organization - "Save the Serengeti" -- google it for more info.

    Thanks!

i would tend to agree that Chinese cell phones are just a waste of money. Most of them are cloned and recycled phones. They do look delicate but can't pass the durability test.

i think this is quite impossible to avoid... even original branded cell phones have "some" parts that are made in china... plain and simple this is a business venture and manufacturers will always go for cheap. china is the cheapest.

I agree with karlnoen1. But atleast dont buy a phone that is fully made in china right? I once had a china phone before, i was forced to buy it coz i was really broke, i got this phone for actually half the price of the original and it attracted me a lot. Sorry if i wasnt able to recall the model, it was actually a long time ago. It worked well actually on the first few days. Then after a couple more weeks, the keypad started jamming, the camera went all blurry, and the screen does not respond well on what you're typing. You have to wait for like 2 seconds before the letter even shows up or before it even responds to what you have selected. It was the worst phone ever.

    DON'T BUY CHINA PHONES!
