It’s called simply the “Amazon Kindle”. But it’s not like any Kindle you’ve seen before. It displays content in full color. It has a 7-inch capacitive touch screen. And it runs Android. This will be the first Kindle with a full-color screen. And yes, it is back-lit. There is no e-ink to be found anywhere on this device.
This kindle surely sounds interesting to me. What about you?

There's no e-ink? That's a pity. If anything, that was by far the biggest USP of the Kindle - if you don't believe me, try spending an hour reading on a normal screen, and then on the Kindle. The strain will be exponentially lesser in the latter. But I'm interested about where this flirtation with Android takes the Kindle. Certainly sounds interesting to me!

It will be interesting to see this play out I agree. Ultimately there is money to be made and with Amazon's audience I don't blame them for going after their piece.

Kindle running on Android is cool! You can now do more things with it aside from reading e-books. But I'm thinking why should I buy this device if I already got the Kindle app on my Android phone?
