I was looking on E-Bay and noticed that a lot of people sell SIM Cards.
What's the deal with that?
I mean I didn't even know we can buy SIM Cards from Rogers separate from the phone unless it's prepaid?
Unless you register the phone isn't it pretty useless?
Do you think a lot of people buy this SIMs on their own?

I'm not encouraging you guys to buy SIM Cards via online because it maybe a scam even you have bought it but once you press #,9,0 this will directly access your SIM card and make calls at your expense.

Work and life can't match properly.
That is my understanding.

People buy AT&T sim cards to use in their phones. Some people buy them as back ups or some buy them just because they need one for their phone. Sim cards are used in GSM phones. They have the ability to hold contacts and sometimes text messages. You can also take the sim card out of one phone and put it in another GSM phone. It'll work. So basically transferring sim card between phones.

Most phones don't store data on the SIM card though. It's not a storage device; just an identifying card for the phone itself. International use is pretty unlikely too, since the roaming charges would be stupidly high on an international GSM account.
Maybe they're buying them to activate phones with, then switch over to a different network? I bought my iPhone unlocked, and it still required that I activate it using a local SIM card before changing to my preferred mobile phone network. It's a little strange that they're available online though -- wouldn't you expect people to just buy them locally?

Some people wants to save their contacts on sim cards so whenever they want to change phones, all their contacts will be saved on the sim card and a less hassle for all of them.

A SIM card or Subscriber Identity Module is a portable memory chip used in some models of cellular phones. The SIM card makes it easy to move to a new phone by simply sliding the SIM card from your old phone and the new. The SIM card contains personal identity information, cell phone data, phonebook, text messages and other.
