The new software availble is said to fix issues with screen timeout while connected to WiFi, Mobile Hotspot data connection, syncronizing email and improve some features like the audio quality during voice call, reduced force closures and continous reset and the signal strength meter now has 5 bars.

As usual you will receive a notification saying that the new software update is available. But if you never receive one please try going to Settings > Software Update > Check New. Once that message pops up follow the 3 simple steps below.


1. Tap OK to download the new software. The file size is 52.5MB and will take about 10-20 mins and it depends on coverage that your phone is getting

2. Once its finish downloading, tap on OK again to install. Don't freak out when your phone reboots 3 times cause that is just normal.

3. Verify if update was successful by going to Settings > Software Update > Status and you should see 2.01.605.11 there. If not, just reboot your phone with taking the battery out and putting it back in and it will prompt you to install the system update again.

Note: Verizon suggested on their PDF guide to use WiFi to check for update when you are currently overseas. It is probably to avoid getting high bill as well.
