Was talking on phone while in the rain my V9x that I have only had one year keypad stopped working. I did not purchase insurance since the company I worked for had layoffs. This is a very expensive phone to have this happen. It keeps time and date and that's all. I have an old V3 that I talk on when in the rain and it works fine. I feel Motorola should make some kind of an adjustment and replace my phone.

Water damage is not good. The phone is probably a goner.
However, you can try to back up your data and reload the OS.

Try to do something yourself with the phone by placing it in the extreme sunlight for 2-3 days. This act usually fixed the water problem in most cases.

When phone gets wet, never pressed anything, just like other remote toys when gets wet. Let it dry first like 2 days without touching it. The water might have sipped into that causes the damage.

its a hardware problem obviously you might use a hair dryer to dry out your "wet" phone and this includes the inner circuit of your phone

Alternative solution, if you still have the warranty of your Motorola, you may send it back to your local service centre for repair

You have to change its keypad or remove the dust from inside the phone....
