    Ordering Online

Is it safe to send my confidential information or credit card number over the Internet?

Sprint.com is a secured site. Your interaction with Sprint is established and maintained by secure sockets layers (SSL), the industry standard for securing Web interactions. Any information that you send to us while buying online is encrypted before it is transmitted over the web. This prevents anyone from gaining access to any credit card or personal information that you send. Most browsers show an unbroken key or closed lock to indicate to you that you are on a secure site. This is an indicator to you that your information is safe.

How long will it take to receive the merchandise I purchase online?

For handset orders, you should receive your merchandise within 2-3 business days after credit approval. For accessory only orders, you should receive your merchandise within 1-2 business days, as long as the item is in stock.

How can I track my order?

A confirmation email containing an order tracking number will be sent to the email address you provided.

Can I change my shipping address?

If you are paying by credit card, we are only able to ship your purchase to the address where you receive your credit card statement. If you receive your credit card statement at a PO Box, we will not be able to accept your purchase online because Federal Express does not deliver to PO Boxes. A signature is required for all online purchases.

Can I bill my online purchase to my Sprint Invoice?

You can charge your online purchase to your Sprint invoice if you meet the following requirements:
    • You are a registered customer on MyNextel
    • You have received a security access code by mail from Sprint
    • Your account has been active for at least 6 months
    • Your account is in good standing (not delinquent)

How do I activate my phone and receive my telephone number?

In most cases, your phone service will be working before you receive your order. Once your online order is shipped, you will receive an email with your telephone number and Federal Express tracking number. When you receive your order, please charge the battery according to the included user guide and then, once fully charged, contact our Welcome Center at 1-866-450-1708 to complete the activation process.

Can I change the rate plan or phone in my order?

Unfortunately, once we receive your order, we cannot change your rate plan, phone type, or quantity of an item online. However, you can change your rate plan by calling Customer Care.

How do I upgrade or replace my existing phone?

Please visit our Phone Upgrade Program for more information and options on how to upgrade.

I am trying to shop online but all I see are blank or partial pages. Why? Do I need to do something to correct this?

Microsoft® has documented a problem that can occur in some cases while viewing a Web site with Internet Explorer 5. In most cases, the page is only partially displayed. To correct this issue, download and install the software patch from the Microsoft Software Library.

My organization/business is tax exempt. How do I receive credit for taxes?

Sprint.com charges all applicable state and local taxes. We do not process tax-exempt transactions. If you are a government entity or qualify as tax-exempt status, please contact your account representative.

How will I know if I passed the credit check?

After submitting your order, it can take from 24 - 48 hours to determine if additional information or a security deposit is required. If additional information is needed, we will contact you, therefore please ensure that your email address and telephone number are correct when you place your order. You may also contact the Web Sales department. Please include your complete order number with all inquiries.

How do I receive my airline miles?

To participate in the airline miles reward program, you must place your online order with one of our affiliate airline partners. Please keep in mind, you must remain a customer for at least 30 days and you will receive your airline miles credit within 90 days.

    Bring Your Number

Where is Wireless Local Number Portability (WLNP) available?

WLNP is available in all markets in the United States.

How will I know if I can bring my number to Sprint?

Even though Wireless Local Number Portability (WLNP) has been available nationwide since May 24, 2004, there are other factors that determine whether or not a specific number can be transferred. Numbers must be in a current Nationwide Sprint Network or Nextel National Network coverage area. Toll-free and pager numbers are not eligible to be taken to or from the Nationwide Sprint Network or Nextel National Network. Fax numbers, however, can be brought to the Nextel National Network. WLNP may not be available from all telecommunications' companies. You can nowcheck your number's eligibility.

Will I be charged an early termination fee from Sprint if I switch from a Sprint PCS Vision or Power Vision phone to a Nexetel Direct Connect® PowerSource phone?

No. Sprint will waive the early termination fee if you transfer your service from the Nationwide Sprint Network to the Nextel National Network.

Do I need to deactivate my old service before I bring my old number to Sprint?

No. Once the number has been approved for transfer, the old number and account will automatically be deactivated.
Note: If you deactivate your account outside of the Wireless Local Number Portability (WLNP) process, your number will no longer be available to bring to Sprint.

What information will I need in order to bring my number to Sprint?

To expedite the transfer, we request that you have a current bill on hand from your existing carrier in order to provide us with your customer information, especially the following:
    • Phone number
    • Account number, Social Security number or Tax ID
    • Billing name and address
    • Account password (if applicable)

I am currently a Sprint or Nextel subscriber. Can I bring my existing home, business or other wireless phone number to my Sprint or Nextel phone? Can I bring a number from a pre-paid carrier (or from Boost) to Sprint?

Yes. You will be able to bring the new number and replace your existing Sprint or Nextel phone number or use it as your alternate/second line on your current phone.
You can also bring phone numbers from all pre-paid carriers, including Boost, to Sprint if the carrier allows it. Pre-paid balances do not transfer from other carriers or from Boost.

Can I bring my Boost Direct Connect number to the Nextel National Network?

Yes, when you bring your regular Boost phone number,*your Boost Direct Connect number will also be transferred.

Can I bring my Nextel® Nationwide Direct Connect number to another carrier? And if I do, will I lose my Nextel Nationwide Direct Connect service?

No, only cellular or traditional home or business telephone numbers can be brought to or from the Nextel National Network. However, Nextel Nationwide Direct Connect can be reactivated within 45 days of losing service. Should you need a phone for only Nextel Nationwide Direct Connect service, we can set up a number for that, too. Just call 1-800-SPRINT1 to do so.

How will I know when the number I requested to bring to Sprint has been activated?

You will know that your number is active on your Sprint phone when the phone from your former carrier is deactivated. The temporary phone number on your Sprint phone will be replaced by the phone number transferred from the other carrier. Simply turn your Sprint phone off and back on again to complete activation. You will also receive a text message on your Sprint phone letting you know the activation is complete.

How will I know what my temporary Sprint phone number is?

You can always locate your temporary phone number by looking under "My Info" on your Sprint phone. If you purchased your Sprint phone through 1-800-SPRINT1 or sprint.com, you will receive an email with your temporary phone number if you provided your email address at the time of purchase. If you purchased your Sprint phone from a*Sprint representative, your temporary number can be found on the packing slip. Customers who purchase Sprint phones through Sprint retail stores will be told their temporary number before leaving the store.

Will I be able to use voicemail while my request is in progress?

We suggest that you wait to set up your voicemail mailbox until after the phone number you have brought to the*Nextel National Network*has been activated and your temporary number has been deactivated. If you set up your voicemail mail box prior to this, all messages and settings (including your greeting and password) will be lost when the number you have transferred becomes active.

Will I be able to use text messaging while my request is in progress?

During the activation, it is possible that text messages may not be properly routed to your Nextel phone. While interruptions of this nature are beyond our control, there is only a small chance of this happening.

Can I dial emergency numbers, such as 911, while my request is in progress?

Sprint is striving to ensure that 911 calls are minimally impacted by the WLNP process. However, while 911 calls can be made during the process—subject to the typical limitations of any wireless 911 call—the public safety dispatch center may not receive an accurate telephone number from your handset, should they need to call you back. Therefore, if you need to make an emergency call during the WLNP process, immediately inform the emergency operator of your exact location and your emergency.

If the transfer takes more than one day, will I still be responsible for paying my current provider for services?

Yes. You will be responsible for paying all applicable fees to your current provider until the WLNP process has been completed. Additionally, if you are subject to a subscriber agreement, you may be obligated to pay early termination fees to your current provider.

I am moving out of the area. Can I take my Nextel phone number with me?

If you are moving outside of the local geographic area, you will not be able to take your Nextel*phone number with you and activate it as a local phone number.

Can I keep my Boost handset when I bring my Boost numbers to Nextel?

Yes, a Nextel SIM Card will let you keep your Boost handset when you bring your Boost numbers to Nextel. Additional charges may apply for the new SIM card only. Your Boost pre-paid balance will not transfer.

Will my Boost pre-paid balance be transferred to my new Nextel account?

No, pre-paid balances will not transfer when you bring your number to Nextel. This applies to Boost and all other pre-paid carriers.

Which Boost handsets are compatible with Nextel's 128k SIM Card?

When you bring your Boost numbers to Nextel you can also keep your Boost handset if it is a 3-Digit series phone such as the i860, i830, i760, and i215 for example. All 3-Digit series phones are compatible with Nextel's 128k SIM card and are GPS capable in compliance with wireless E911 regulatory guidelines. You will not be able to keep a 2-Digit series phone. For additional information about phone/SIM compatibility please visit Nextel.com/sim.

Will my Boost phone (handset) support all Nextel products and services?

Some Nextel products and services require specific phone features to work. These phone features may not be available in all Boost handsets. Products and services that may not be available or may not work on a Boost handset include: Second Line Service, Group Connect, Address Book on My Nextel, and 3-Way Calling. In addition, Boost handsets are not eligible for Sprint's Service and Repair program. Products and services may require a subscription, activation, or a fee in addition to the phone capabilities.

    eBill & AutoPay

How long will it take before I see the credit on my invoice?

Your $5 credit (or $10 when you sign up for both programs) should appear on the next invoice after your successful enrollment in eBill or AutoPay. However, there could be a delay if a form is not fully completed or if information is incorrect.

What is recurring direct debit (RDD)? Is it the same as AutoPay?

Yes. RDD offers a way to make automatic payments on your Sprint bill. With recurring direct debit, Sprint will automatically deduct the Amount Due on your invoice from the bank account (checking or savings) that you designate.

How will I be notified that my bank account has been charged?

The Amount Due will be deducted from your designated bank account on the payment due date. Additionally, you can log in to MyNextel to view payment information about your account.

How will I be notified that my invoice is ready to be viewed?

Sprint will send you an email when your invoice is available online at sprint.com/mynextel.

What are the terms and conditions of the eBill & AutoPay promotion?

You must register as a nextel.com user, agree to receive eBill (electronic invoice), and enroll in AutoPay (RDD) for 12 months.

How will I know the status of my enrollment?

You will be sent a letter once your enrollment in the AutoPay program is completed. An email will be sent out once your eBill enrollment is successful.

Do I need to register at MyNextel as an Account Administrator in order to view my eBill?

Yes. To access your eBill (online invoice) or take advantage of other online account management tools, you'll need to register with MyNextel at sprint.com/mynextel as an Account Administrator.

How long will it take me to register on at sprint.com/mynextel?

Registering is easy. All you need is your your most recent bill, your Nextel phone number, and your SIM or IMEI number. It takes about 5-10 minutes to register.
