When do my calls count as anytime minutes that are included in my plan?

Minutes used are counted as “anytime” minutes when they do not fall into any of the following categories: Night and Weekend Minutes
    Mobile-to-Mobile Minutes
    Free Incoming

With the Power Pack Plan, how will I know how many anytime minutes I use each month?

The Subscriber Activity Summary on your bill will display your total anytime minutes used. In this example, the total Power Pack anytime minutes used during the month was 700 minutes.

With the Power Pack Plan, how can I tell if I used more anytime minutes than included in my rate plan?

Your bill will highlight the“tier”for any additional anytime minutes that you used during the month and the additional charge that will be added to your standard monthly access charge.

    What is Mobile-to-Mobile?

The Mobile-to-Mobile option provides free minutes to and from any other customer while you're on the Nationwide Sprint PCS or Nextel National Networks. Mobile-to-Mobile calls do not use your calling plan minutes. Long distance charges will still apply to Mobile-to-Mobile minutes if applicable.

Is the Mobile-to-Mobile option available on any plan?

The Mobile-to-Mobile option is available for most plans and has a buy-up charge of $5/month per subscriber. Please check your plan details or call 1-800 SPRINT1 for availability. Note: The Mobile-to-Mobile option is not available to customers in Nextel Partners markets. Moreover, calls to or from Nextel Partner subscribers are not included under this option either.

How can I tell if the call is within my Mobile-to-Mobile calling network?

Within yourcall details, the Mobile-to-Mobile call will be flagged with a code MM. A PDF of the call details can be viewed online at sprint.com/mynextel by selecting Billing History and Analysis.

    What are shared usage plans?

Shared usage plans are plans that allow subscribers on the same account participating in the same shared usage plan family to share their minutes each month. Check the plan details for shared minute plans.

How are shared usage adjustments calculated?

The percentage of total overages for the account generated by the subscriber will determine the percentage of the credit received in the Shared Usage Adjustment for each subscriber. The calculation remains the same regardless of the presentation of the adjustment on the Account or on the Subscribers. In this example, if Subscriber 1 generates 10% of the overage, Subscriber 2 generates 60% overage and Subscriber 3 generates 30% overage, each will receive the respective amount of credit as an adjustment. Note that the total minutes credited back will not be more than the combined shared usage minutes.

    Coverage

Where do Nextel phones have coverage?

The Nextel National Network provides coverage in 297 of the top 300 U.S. markets where approximately 260 million people live or work.

Where can I use Direct Connect services?

You can use Direct Connect services in the following places:
    • Nextel Direct Connect: Use within your home market to contact another Nextel subscriber also in your home market.
    • Nextel® Nationwide Direct Connect: Use in any market to contact a Nextel subscriber in any other market.
    • Group Connect®: Use within your home market to contact up to 25 Nextel subscribers also in your home market.

I'd like to use my phone in an area that doesn't appear on the Nextel National Network's coverage map. When will coverage be available there?

To provide superior coverage to our customers at an affordable rate, Sprint must take into consideration factors such as overall consumer demand and local government permits. To be cost-effective, highly populated areas may be given higher priority over rural areas with less traffic. Sprint does have an aggressive plan to grow with the needs of our customers.

I used to have coverage in an area, but now my phone doesn't work there. Why not?

Disruptions in coverage might be a result of temporary site outages or obstructions of a signal, such as:
    • Geographical barriers (such as mountains)
    • Seasonal factors (heavy foliage)
    • Buildings
Contact Customer Care online about any service disruptions you experience so we can research and address the situation.

Why are there places within a covered area that do not have coverage?

Digital signals may be blocked by obstructions within a covered area. Terrain variations, foliage or buildings may affect coverage within a particular area. Try adjusting your location to a more open area so that you might get better signal reception.

What cities in Northern Baja California have coverage?

Northern Baja California coverage includes Tijuana, Ensenada, Tecate, Mexicali and Rosarito.

How much does it cost to make and receive calls in Baja California?

Customers in the San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas areas only pay $0.69 per minute for all calls made and received in Baja California. Other customers pay the Nextel International rate of $1.99 per minute.

Can I automatically make calls while visiting Baja California?

If you do not already have international dialing privileges on your phone, you should contact Customer Care to request international dialing before you can make calls in Baja California. You will be able to receive calls and make local calls while in Baja California without this feature, but you will be charged your normal rate of either $0.69 per minute or $1.99 per minute for those calls depending on your home market.

Can I use Nextel® Nationwide Direct Connect service in Baja California?

Yes, you can make Nextel® Nationwide Direct Connect calls from the Baja California area to Nextel subscribers elsewhere in the U.S. and Baja California.

Does it cost extra to use Nextel Direct Connect and Nextel® Nationwide Direct Connect service in Baja California?

How much does it cost to use data services while in Baja California?

There are no additional charges for using your data services in Baja California. You will be charged as if you were in the U.S.

Why am I having problems making calls to people I always call?

Any call made in the Baja California area are handled by the Nextel de Mexico network. You will be required to dial internationally to make calls. Please contact Customer Care to add international dialing to your account. If you have one of Nextel's older phone models, you may also have trouble picking up the U.S. network when you are near the Mexican border. We recommend that you upgrade to a newer Nextel phone in order to minimize the risk of that problem.

Why can't I make a Nextel Direct Connect call?

If you normally have access to Nextel Direct Connect service in the U.S., you should be able to use Nextel Direct Connect service in Mexico. However customers who have one of Nextel's older phone models will not be able to use Nextel Direct Connect service when on the Nextel de Mexico network. Wireless 411

    What is "Wireless 411"?

Sprint--along with other wireless carriers--is developing a "wireless 411" directory, in which wireless customers may ask to have their numbers included in directory assistance in a manner similar to wireline 411 service.

Will Sprint be offering a "wireless 411" directory service and, if so, when will it be available?

Sprint anticipates offering wireless 411 to those customers who choose to include their numbers later in 2005. There are significant technical and coordination issues involved with developing such a capability, and Sprint is still working through the details regarding the exact date of commercial availability.

Will my wireless number automatically be included in a "wireless 411" service?

For those interested in the upcoming service, we will provide a choice to be included in the wireless directory. Sprint customers will receive notification of how the wireless directory will work, including instructions on how to opt-in to the directory. Sprint will not include any customer in the wireless directory assistance service unless that customer asks to be included through verifiable means. Once a customer's number is included in the service, they'll have the ability to opt-out, or to remove their number, at any time. This means the customer has complete control.

I am concerned about the privacy of my wireless number. If I decide to participate, who will have access to my wireless phone number?

Sprint is committed to customer privacy. Sprint will not publish wireless directory assistance information or provide access to the directory assistance database to anyone but the wireless directory assistance provider.

Will Sprint give my number to telemarketers?

No, Sprint will not give your Nextel number to anyone for telemarketing purposes. Telemarketing to wireless numbers is effectively illegal. Anyone who markets to a wireless phone risks liability. For more information, read the latest FTC new release.

Is there any additional way to block telemarketing calls from my wireless phone?

Yes, if a wireless customer desires added protection, they may add their number to the Federal Trade Commission's "Do Not Call" registry. Wireless customers can sign up for "Do Not Call" by dialing 888-382-1222 from the phone they want to add to the list, or by visiting ftc.gov. If you have questions about the "Do Not Call" registry, visit donotcall.gov/register/Reg.aspx.

Will there be a charge if I want to be listed in a "wireless 411" service? Will I be charged if I want my number to remain unlisted?

All options for wireless directory assistance will be free and convenient. Sprint customers who ask to be included in the wireless directory will be able to do so at no additional cost. Customers who have asked to be included in the wireless directory may later opt-out at any time at no cost. Likewise, those customers interested in remaining out of the directory may do so without incurring any cost.

Are there any other expected charges with a "wireless 411" service?

Sprint expects that airtime charges and the current $1.40 fee will apply for Sprint customers placing a 411 call. For those Sprint customers included in the directory, incoming calls received as a result of a 411 inquiry will be charged airtime minutes only. For more information, please visit ftc.gov.

What is the difference between the Sprint 411 and Wireless 411 services?

Sprint Directory Assistance 411 service offers business and residential phone numbers as well as movie listings, restaurant reservations, driving directions and event information. The Wireless 411 service is a directory of wireless phone numbers. Customers may ask to have their numbers included in directory assistance in a manner similar to wireline 411 service.

    Sprint 411

Does Sprint 411 offer any services other than just phone numbers?

In addition to business and residential listed phone numbers, Sprint 411 operators are able to offer movie listings, restaurant reservations, driving directions and event information. Reservations can be made with any restaurant that accepts reservations that do not require a deposit. In some cases, Sprint 411 operators can also provide alternative numbers or locations for select listings.

For what locations can a Sprint 411 operator provide information?

Sprint 411 can provide you with listings within the Continental U.S. and Hawaii. Requests for Canada, Alaska, and International listings will be referred to other sources.

In what locations can I receive Sprint 411 service?

You will automatically receive Sprint 411 service when you dial 411 from your Nextel phone anywhere within the Nextel National Network.

What happens if I dial an area code + 555-1212 rather than 411 from my Nextel phone?

If you dial an area code within the Continental U.S. or Hawaii, the call will be answered by Sprint 411 operators, just as if you had dialed 411 from your phone. If you dial 555-1212 using an area code for Canada, Alaska, or the Caribbean, the call will be referred to a different directory assistance source.

Who do I call if I need to change or cancel a restaurant reservation?

Sprint 411 can take care of any requests to change or cancel a reservation made through them. Or, since the reservation is in your name, you can call the restaurant directly.

How do Sprint 411 charges appear on my bill?

Charges for Sprint 411 and a completed call will appear as a single call on your invoice call detail section. It will appear as a normal call and will include both time spent with the operator and total airtime used.

    What is new about 411?

In addition to great services like phone numbers, movie listings and driving directions, etc., you can now access information on lottery results, horoscopes, traffic and ATM locations. Three pieces of information per call are allowed.

Why is the 411 call greeting different?

Sprint and Nextel have come together as one company to continue to provide the most beneficial 411 services to you, our customer.

Has the price of 411 calls ($1.79) changed?

No, Each call is just $1.79, including airtime.

    Can I request restaurant reservations?

Yes. Just ask us to make a reservation for participating restaurants and we will confirm the reservation with you.

Can I still have the number repeated if I don't hear it the first time (Number back)?

This service - pressing "2" to hear a number again - is temporarily unavailable. But it should be restored in the first quarter of 2006.

Will I be connected to the number I request at the end of the call?

Yes. You will be connected to your requested number at no additional charge. Standard airtime rates apply.

Can I go back to a live operator by pressing the star (*) key (Starback)?

This feature is no longer available. But the Number back option, available in the first quarter of 2006, should help you if you missed the number the first time.

If I receive a busy signal, or the phone rings and there's no answer at the number I requested, can I get back to an operator?

You will have to place another 411 call to ask for a new number.

Can I receive an SMS text message of the phone number I've requested?

Sprint Nextel is modifying its 411 SMS service. Estimated restoration of this service is expected in the first quarter of 2006. We appreciate your patience during this time.
