You will probably find that the phone will pair, however you will in time (if not straight away) have problems with calls and also accessing phonebook. These faults will be sporadic in occuring.
It's a common misunderstanding that everything "Bluetooth" must be compatible with another Bluetooth component.
To date the best phone in my experience is the Nokia 6300 which is listed as tested and compatible by BMW.
The reason for these issues is the sheer number of different phone models/software levels and the fact the phones companies such as Nokia don't want to co-operate with BMW during the development stages.

This was really a nice phone, it have a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, it is available in a variety of bold colors, there is a full QWERTY keyboard ready for some IM and webmail action. I hope that many people will really like this phone.
