I had a programme called NetQin installed on my phone for a while now. I initially got it as a trial version default on my phone and then when it started incurring charges, I just paid it because it was cheap and I couldn’t be bothered. Well a few days ago a mate of mine sent me an MMS. I opened the file and NetQin immediately popped up saying that it’s detected a virus, something called a Commwarrior.G was trying to install itself onto my phone. I thought it a bit unusual so I looked it up online. Apparently it’s a type of virus that causes system damage; icons disappear in the menu after installation. It then causes the phone to reboot continuously and once the virus is released, it cannot be cleared.
It may have cost me extra $$$ but I’m glad I got it now. If you haven’t got an anti-virus installed I highly suggest that you do – it’ll save you a lot of $$$ and grief in the long run.
