Hi,
I bought this phone model "LG Optimus 2X" from South Korea - yeah, the first dual core smart phone in the world!
The phone is already unlocked.
I started using the AT&T's sim card. It worked fine the first day, however, from the second day, I couldn't send text to any other mobile that's not AT&T. FAIL
I looked up everything and talked to AT&T for days and weeks but the problem was not solved.
So I moved to T-mobile.
However, I got very bad reception at my place and I was waiting for very important calls at that moment, so I just started using my old crappy pre-paid verizon phone.
So now this awesome phone is just sitting in my room![]()
I was wondering if there's any way I can solve any of the problems mentioned above or the way to use this phone in US.
I saw couple of verizon sim cards on Amazon and ebay, would that work with my phone although my phone is not a verizon phone?
Plz, I need help with you phone experts!!!!!!!)))

Hi,
I'd like to know something more about your problem by asking you some questions.
1. Have you already ported your AT&T number to T-Mobile or you just got another SIM card with T-Mobile?
2. Are you getting any error message when you're sending messages to non-AT&T numbers using your LG Optimus 2X with the AT&T SIM card in it?
3. If you haven't tried, can we put your AT&T sim card with another phone and see if that will work?
Thanks

re
1. I already have ported my AT&T number to T-mobile and I didn't get any reception anywhere. So I switched back to AT&T with a new number and the problem continued :/
2. When I tried sending msgs, it always said 'Message sent successful'
3. and yeah, I tried using AT&T sim card with my roommate's blackberry and it worked fine.
Just on my phone... I am thinking it's because I brought it from Korea and something is on the way ...
but one thing I don't understand is that it worked fine the first day! then the problem occured on the second day.
grrr

Alright, since 2 different sim card with different numbers did the same thing it really means that your LG Optumis 2X is the one faulty but its just weird that it worked only for one day. Maybe you can try checking the SMSC number saved onto that phone by going to Messages > press menu then tap Settings > Text messages (SMS) > Service Center > enter +13123149810 > then tap OK.
If your phone already got the correct Service center number, you might have to try resetting your phone to factory default but make sure that you backup your data first.

I just tried that :/ but there is no such thing as Text messages(SMS) on my settings.
I already have tried resetting my phone and it not work for some reason :/ I think it's AT&T's problem because one of my friends who brought her phone from Korea had a same problem too with AT&T sim card.
Now she is using T-mobile and it works fine with her. However, I don't get any service anywhere around my area with T-mobile.
I am trying to figure out if there are any other good mobile companies to get a sim card now and I was wondering if verizon sim card would work on my phone :/

That is really weird. Its just hard to say if its AT&T's fault or the Korean phones, but most probably its on AT&T side cause T-Mobile works fine on it.
Verizon will be your best option but I would suggest to test your phone by borrowing a SIM card from one of your friends who is with Verizon and see if that will work before porting your number over.
